Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said the rising insecurity, poor economy and other vices bedevilling the nation were worsening mental health, as most Nigerians have become traumatised by happenings in the country.

Jonathan, who spoke at the weekend when the management of The Albino Foundation and its partners paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja to appreciate him for underwriting foreign medical bills of persons with albinism, stated that most criminal activities in Nigeria were drug-induced.

He deplored cultism in secondary and primary schools and how it is compounding the prevailing security situation in the most populous black nation.

The ex-President observed that most areas of the nation’s health system needed to be upgraded to international standards.

In his speech, the foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Jake Epelle, appealed to Jonathan to remain a vocal voice for persons with disabilities, stating that his organisation would love partnering with the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation for the betterment of albinos.
