CNG Slams Wike’s ‘Threats of Chaos’ Against Bauchi State, Warns of Dire Consequences

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has vehemently condemned the recent threats made by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike against Bauchi State, describing them as “disgraceful and thuggish.”

In a strongly-worded press release, signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, the CNG denounced Wike’s behaviour as a stark reminder of his “dangerous and unrefined attitude” consistently displayed throughout his political career.

Wike’s recent outburst on live television has sparked widespread outrage, with the CNG characterizing it as a “bandit-like” threat that not only affronts the people of Bauchi State but also poses a direct challenge to the peace and stability of Northern Nigeria.

The CNG expressed shock and disappointment that a figure of Wike’s notorious repute holds a position in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government, stating that it is a “tragedy for Nigeria” that individuals with a glaring lack of respect for the rule of law and civil discourse are appointed to high offices in the Federal Government.

The group warned that they do not take Wike’s threats lightly and are fully prepared to confront him and anyone who believes they can bully or destabilize the region. The CNG emphasized that no one has a monopoly on thuggery or intimidation and that they are ready to respond with equal force to any threat posed by Wike or his ilk.

The press release also called on President Tinubu to urgently reconsider the inclusion of “volatile and unrefined elements” like Wike in his government, stating that the Nigerian people deserve leaders who will work towards unity and stability, not those who would threaten it with their bandit-like tactics.

In conclusion, the CNG reiterated their commitment to defending Northern Nigeria against any form of aggression or intimidation, warning that they will not hesitate to take action to protect the region’s interests.

The controversy has sparked a heated debate about the suitability of Wike for his position in the Federal Government, with many calling for his removal. The situation remains tense, with the CNG and other groups vowing to take action against Wike’s perceived aggression.
