Group wants APC chairmanship zoned to N’Central
Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has said that the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) will take over government in 2023 to deliver the common man from the quagmire the country in which the country found itself.
Jega stated this yesterday at the inauguration of PRP executive committee members in Kebbi State, describing the state’s congress of the party as one of the best in the country.
“The party is poised to bring changes that will save the common man from the present situation in the country,” he said.
He advised the new exco to wake up in educating and sensitising the people of Kebbi to realise that it’s time for them to come out of poverty.
The new state chairman of the party, Alhaji Sani Tadurga, who was elected unopposed, promised to work with his exco to save the masses, adding that his administration will be prudent and fair to all party faithful in the state.
MEANWHILE, Progressives for Tanko Al-Makura has called on the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the national chairmanship of the party to the North Central in view of present political realities.
The group made the appeal, yesterday, while drumming more support for Senator Umaru Al-Makura, who had earlier indicated interest in the national chairmanship of the party.
It said that Al-Makura’s chairmanship of the APC holds much good for the party’s fortunes come 2023.
The convener, Makpa Malla, said the endorsement of Al-Makura as the national chairman by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party was because of his love and sacrifice that led to the merger that culminated in APC.
Malla expressed confidence that if Al-Makura is elected as the national chairman of the ruling party in the coming convention, he will reposition the party for a better contest in 2023.
