APC Chairmanship: Indisputable Facts About Saliu Mustapha, a True Man of The Masses

The APC  in a bid to reposition itself ahead of the 2023 general elections is conducting a national congress to usher in new party executives right from the ward level to the National Working Committee of the party.

Nigerians are upbeat and can’t wait to see who emerges as the National Chairman of the ruling party, one hopeful whose aspiration for the Party’s top seat is currently impressing Nigerians is Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin, owing to his intimidating and unblemished credential.

Let’s have a look at the most interesting facts about the APC frontline chairmanship candidate,  Saliu Mustapha.

  1. An Astute Party Administrator

Mallam Saliu Mustapha has a rich political history of party leadership. 

He once served as the National Publicity Secretary of the Progressive Liberation Party (PLP),  In 2003, Mustapha and other like-minds formed the Progressive Action Congress (PAC) where he was returned again as the National Publicity Secretary.

From his days at the ANPP then onward to the CPC where he became the deputy national chairman of the party before finally joining hands together to form the APC, Saliu Mustapha has always shown decorum in handling the affairs of the multiple responsibilities assigned to him as a loyal party member and executive.

  1. His Political Ideological

Saliu Mustapha is focused and committed to nation-building, he has a rich history of creativity which he deploys in his political and business careers. As Deputy National Chairman of the defunct CPC, he was instrumental in the culminating of the mega party called the APC.

  1. A Man of Action.

The local and international business tycoon has proved both in his private career and political sojourn as a goal-getter who leaves no room for procrastination. A man of verifiable action. Saliu Mustapha takes ample advantage of events and uses them to the benefit of mankind.

  1. A Great Philanthropist.

This is what the masses love most about him, his care and empathy towards the needy. Mallam Saliu Mustapha conceived his foundation the Saliu Mustapha Foundation, SMF in 2003 for the sole purpose of humanitarian services. He spends hundreds of millions yearly in sustaining this laudable initiative.

Just a few days ago he donated 200 Orthopaedic beds and their accessories to the Kwara State Govt to help ameliorate the challenges faced in the health sector in the State.

His scholarship scheme is renowned to be one of the most functional in Nigeria in terms of giving back to society.

  1. The Man of the Masses

A true friend is someone who will always be there for you through life’s many ups and downs.

Here is one unique attribute you can never take away from Saliu Mustapha, his closeness and affinity with the masses. He has always protected the interest of the common man right from his early days.

  1. A Multilinguist and Pan-Nigerian

Saliu Mustapha seems to be a strong advocate of Pan-Nigerianism as he speaks different Nigerian languages such as Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, and Okun. His friendship ties across the 36 States of the federation makes him a detribalized Nigerian.

  1. The Youngest Traditional Title Holder In Ilorin.

Saliu Mustapha emerged as the youngest title holder in Ilorin following his appointment as the new Turaki of Ilorin Emirate by the Emir of Ilorin, His Eminence, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who doubles as the Chairman, Council of Traditional rulers in Kwara State,

8.He is fondly Called, The Defender Of The Downtrodden.

In Kwara State, his home State he is often referred to as the defender of the downtrodden due to his consistent interference in the day to day affairs of the common man.
